“It is through God’s mercy we have this ministry” as apostle Paul remarked in 2 Corinthians 4:1. By knowing that ministry is a privilege for us, with eager heart we attended the ministry meeting. Ministry meetings are held by the church to prepare those who desires to serve God in His ministry. This year, it was held on January 19 to 20, 2007. The chosen venue for this year was a nice two story house by the lake Conroe, a different place from where he had our ministry meeting last year. We had two days packed with worshipping, learning from the sermons, having some brainstorming on the church ministry for remaining year of 2007 and of course enjoying the days with friends and all the great cooking.

On Friday night, January 19, we all started to come to the place and right away enjoyed nice chicken noodle and meat balls soup prepared by Pastor Somi Pranoto and family. The noodle was very yummy and the additional meat ball soup was just perfect for the chill of the night. As always, gathering around enjoying meals has been a good ice breaker for the group. It did not take a long time before the house was filled with talks and laughs. The night was even filled with joy as we sang happy birthday and had some taste of delicious cake. Yes, Ibu Mutia Pranoto and Aliang had their birthday that day. So we took some time to celebrate their special day and to bless them with prayers. It was then continued by pictures taken of the birthday celebrants and family.

Soon after the dinner and simple celebration, around 9:40PM, we all started worshipping led by Gretchen Trisna and with Haniel Trisna on keyboard. The meeting was sure handled professionally with accompany of LCD projector to help us in words of the songs. Thank you to Aliang that has served us by operating the LCD. After the praise and worship, we opened our heart to God’s word delivered by Robin Tan. The key point of the message is “We are created to serve God and we serve God by serving others”. Jesus himself, had ministry as His life and Jesus’ ministry is all about serving others. Now we understand that whatever ministry we are doing is for God, we have to do it fully. It does not only say about action but also the involvement of our heart on the ministry we do.
