The Construction
The groundbreaking ceremony on July 10, 2004 kicked off the construction phase. During the construction, we faced countless challenges; however our God never failed to show His guidance and blessings. Even with the selection of the general contractor, He led us to choose the right one.

Carpet Problem ... Almost!
Before the completion of the building, a heavy downpour revealed places which needed correction. The carpet was scheduled to be installed the next day, had it not rained, the leaks would not have been uncovered and future rain could have destroyed the carpet.

Church Painting Miracle
Painting was not included as part of the church contractor's contract terms due to an additional cost of $8,000. The leadership decided to look for outside offers. The challenge the leadership faced was that the painting cost estimate was about the same quoted by the contractor, which seemed to be higher than budgeted. In that difficult situation where the building needed a paint job, the leadership found a painter quoting $5,000. What a blessing and joy! More amazingly, the leadership found a better painter in a few days later, who even offered to add texture to the ceiling and walls for the same $5,000 quote and a more professional look! That was really a miracle for IFGF Houston Church, given its budget constraints. The Lord really gave the BEST.

Acquisition of the Sound System
Our church loves to give praise and worship to God. Therefore, we longed to have a good speaker system for our church so that congregation could enjoy and lift better praise and worship. However, several vendors' quotes were higher than we had budgeted. Again, our God is the Jehovah Jireh, who provides for our needs. During the Thanksgiving Retreat of 2004, Pastor Fendy Hutomo was moved by God to challenge all retreat participants to financially bless the IFGF Houston church building project. Therefore, the fruit became a reality, for which we all had been waiting. Our God is the Amazing God who provides the needs of His Church indeed!

We used the building for the first time on New Year's Eve (December 31, 2004), thanking God for His provision and blessings throughout the long process.
